Our visit with the Hemphill's and the Circus

On Wednesday our friends Brittny, Christopher and Sophie came over to our house for a few hours. It was great to see the boys play together again, see how big Sophie has gotten and to catch up with Brittny. Poor Sophie was exhausted at the end of the two hours. Here she is passed out, well for a few minutes at least, on the puppy dog. Too cute.

Then on Saturday we went to the circus with Brandon and Christopher. The boys didn't have too much interest in it, but what we did get to see was cool. I agree with Kristin's assessment of the circus....when did dogs become a circus act and too bad it was only one ring and not three. That might have kept the boys entertained longer. Oh well, we tried.

After the circus we went back to our house and had the boys take a nap while Brandon and Burt played Wii for a few hours. I tried my hand at bowling once too.

After the boys woke up from their naps they ran around in circles playing with each other, squeeling in delight. They had a wonderful time. It is always fun to watch them, but makes us miss them even more since we can't play together all the time. Nicholas was very sad to see him go, but at least we know we will see them next month again. Here we asked them to give each other a hug.

Once Nicholas realized Joshua was sitting on his lap he quickly tried to push him away, but at least we caught them on film before he did that.

Rolls!

So, Joshua now knows how to roll from his stomach to his back, yippee. One accomplishment in the books. He was so proud of himself at 6am this morning when I went in to his room. Yes, this does mean that usually he is on his stomach when he wakes up. I can't believe I am admitting this in a blog for everyone to read, but seeing as he sleeps on his tummy (God watches after him), this new feat creates a problem of him waking up too early and not knowing how to roll back over to go back to sleep. We had the same issue with Nicholas. I think it only lasted a few weeks though. Here's hoping. And for the other rolls, those would be on his cute little legs.

This shirt was white...

Nicholas wanted to play in the rain on Saturday after being inside most of the day. No big deal, right. Well, Burt and Nicholas did end up at the big red dirt pile at the end of the street and played in that for a long time. Needless to say the shirt is no longer its original color. At least I bought it at a consignment sale so it didn't cost that much. Now he just has another play shirt is all. This is the aftermath trying to clean off a little. Nicholas had a great time (and so did his dada). It is kind of hard to tell how red the shirt became in these pictures, but hopefully you can tell a little bit. It was very funny. Boys will be boys.

My little lefty

Yes, it is true, our little boy is a lefty. This is the one thing he has adapted from his mama. He loves to color and write these days. I was writing a grocery list at lunch yesterday and he just had to sit up in the chair and write something himself. He was very proud as you will see below. Too cute. (We have brought one over to our side Auntie D!)
